We begin each design and installation project with an on-site consultation. We will spend time studying the environment of your space and listening to your vision for how you want to use and live in it. From there, we will work with you to develop a project plan that reflects your space, goals, and budget. (Please note that we charge a nominal fee for a consultation, which can be credited toward the price of a design.)

After our initial consultation, we will develop a design concept that is informed by your story and the environmental and landscaping needs of your space. Each design includes a full plant and/or material palette that allows you to visualize your finished space. It also includes a planting schedule and plan that explains how to properly care for your plants. Before we finalize the design, we meet with you again to talk through the concept and make any changes or answer any questions you may have.

Once you have approved the design, we will finalize the budget and timeline for installation. Every installation is led by the designer himself to ensure that your vision is fully realized and your space and the environment receive the care and respect they deserve. Installations may include the following services:   

• Land grading

• Adaptive reuse of on-site materials 

• Water-management and drainage

• Native plants 

• Permaculture

• Lawn reduction

• Paths and patios 

• Dry stack retaining walls

• Fire pits

• Rain gardens 

• Raised and terraced garden beds

Your new space will need to be maintained so that it flourishes for years to come. Whether you want to care for your space yourself or need help with regular or seasonal maintenance, we are fully equipped to educate and support you. Maintenance visits may include the following services: 

• Hardscape maintenance 

• Irrigation maintenance

• Pruning, deadheading, and transplanting

• Weeding

• Clearing brush

• Mowing, edging, and blowing

• Leaf cleanup

• Mulching
